🦋 IC Information
Character Name: Gwen Stacy
Age: 17
Canon: Sony's Spider-Verse
Canon Point: End of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023)
Character History: Wiki here
Canon Abilities: Gwen is Spider-Woman in her universe, and that comes with all the same powers as Spider-Man in other universes. She has super strength, speed, agility, durability, can crawl on walls, and senses danger with her spider-senses so that she can avoid/anticipate trouble before it happens. There are also some cases where her Spider-senses mean she can identify other Spider-People. Outside of her superhuman abilities, Gwen is also a very intelligent having created the webbing she uses just like other Spider-People, and she does well in school (when she goes). She is also a very skilled drummer.
Inventory: Gwen arrived with her Spider-suit, web shooters (with limited fluid, so she'll have to work out a way to make it if she uses her shooters in the future), and a pair of drumsticks.
🦋 Personality
Option 1: Answer the following questions. Elaborate on the answer, especially your characters thoughts and feelings surrounding the answer. For Canon Characters, you can choose four questions. For Original Characters, you will need to choose six questions. Keep the word count to 150-400 per question.
- Has your character always believed in magic? Do they have something influencing their perspective on the supernatural/metaphysical/spiritual from their past? How do they feel about magic?
Gwen has not spent a lot of time thinking about magic before coming to this place, but generally doesn't think true magic is real. Gwen was raised Catholic, so there is some spirituality within her, but it’s not a strong part of her life and perceptions of the world. She's a more science-minded person and believes that anything that might be perceived as 'magic' is potentially explainable using science, even if the explanation has not yet been found. She's seen so many things in her short life that might have seemed impossible, like getting superpowers, traveling the multiverse, and seeing realities and Spider-People of all shapes and sizes, all of which could be explained with science. So being here might force her to confront those notions, or she may look for what she can to explain this place scientifically. Having to admit something, might just be magic, will not likely upset her. However, Gwen does like to understand things, so the unexplainable might generally frustrate her.
3. If your character could ask for one wish, and it's going to be magically granted without any consequence, what will it be and why?
Gwen would wish for her best friend Peter, the one from her reality, to be alive again. She accidentally killed him when he'd changed himself into the Lizard to be strong like her. The experimenting on himself backfired, and he couldn't control the monster, leading Gwen to fight him off at Homecoming without knowing it was him. In the melee, she nearly brought the whole school gym down on top of him. His death broke her and caused her to keep people at a distance for a long time until she fell into the multiverse and met Miles. If Peter could come back to life, that guilt for killing him would still linger, but she still wants to see him again. She's met so many Peters since traveling the multiverse, but they will never be her lost best friend. And she wishes he could see that he was special. Maybe in their universe, he’d not been Spider-Man, but in her world, he’d been the best Peter.
4. What song would a siren sing to your character to lure them closer? Why?Being a drummer, Gwen is particularly drawn to good music with catchy drum beats. John Bonham from Led Zeppelin is one of the greatest drummers of all time. Because of this, any Led Zeppelin song might do, but the catchiest and one that would get her the most interested would be the "Immigrant Song". It might not be the song with the best drum solo of John Bonham: "Moby Dick", but it is a song that catches your ear and draws you in. It is also a pretty epic fight song, so I could see Gwen easily humming it in the middle of a fight or even listening to it on some headphones while swinging around New York City. It’s got an energy to it that hypes you up, and it would have her idly strumming the beat without even thinking about it. So if she were to hear it, it would be very likely to lure her in.
5. If there's one person your character would follow to another realm, who would it be and why? If there's no one, state that and explain why.
The one person that Gwen would follow anywhere is Miles Morales. She's already shown she is willing to leap into the multiverse again to find him. While she's never said it, Gwen loves Miles. She cares for him deeply, and after the events of Across the Spider-Verse, she carries heavy guilt for lying to him about the potential of his father dying in his Universe. She's ready to do anything to make that right. He might never forgive her for keeping that from him, but Gwen is still willing to find a way to him and to help him save his father, despite the fear that he may never want anything to do with her again. So if Miles ever came to her and told her that she needed to leap into another realm, she'd do it without a thought. She’s come to realize that Miles is the best of them, of the Spider-People. He was willing to fight to prevent a terrible future in a way the other Spider-People in the Spider-Society were unwilling to do. He wasn’t going to sacrifice someone’s life just on the idea that it was needed to keep reality together without at least looking for another way. Gwen realizes that she'd lost her way and Miles helped her see that truth.

Backtagging: Of course!
Fourth walling: With Deadpool always, all other instances please reach out first.
Thread hopping : In Networks, yes. Unless otherwise marked private. In other cases, please ask first.
Content warnings and sensitive subjects: Incest or Non-Con. Otherwise, I'm good.
Anything else: As Gwen is still a teenager, I don't expect any sort of shipping with any older characters. Still, I am excited for any and all Gen CR! And I'm certainly all about shipping with characters close to her own age (my kingdom for a Miles tbh). I'm also willing to talk through ships of slightly older characters where it makes sense, but it would have to be the right circumstance and talked through in advance.

Physical affection: She might be a little awkward about it, but this girl definitely needs some hugs.
Romance: Yes! Make her blush.
Violence: Of course, but she can hit pretty hard, so you've been warned.
Injuries : Possible, if we chat through it.
Death: Only if discussed first.
Telepathy and mind-reading: This can happen, but would like some ooc discussion first to determine outcomes.
Content warnings and sensitive subjects related to the character: Death, Spiders, Underage content possible.

❥ Folkmore Roles & Attributes
Skills:
- Science and Technologically gifted- Gwen is very smart and does well enough in school to be enrolled in the prestigious technical high school. She's also developed her own web shooters/and web-fluid just like the Peter Parkers/Spider-Men in other universes
- Drummer/Musically inclined- She is a skilled drummer and member of a band back home called the Mary Janes although prior to coming to the Folkmore she'd quit the band.
- Dancer - Gwen is a trained ballerina, which is why she used to wear point shoes with her Spider-Woman outfit before replacing them with Hobie's Chucks.
Canon Abilities:
Gwen is Spider-Woman in her universe, and that comes with all the same powers as outlined here. Generally, she has super strength, speed, agility, is especially durable, can crawl on walls, and senses danger with her spider-senses so that she can avoid/anticipate trouble.
Role: Familiar
Role Qualities/Attributes:
The animal that Gwen would turn into as a familiar is most often a spider, and specifically a pink tarantula (cw: pic of spider). There also might be certain times, like times of severe stress, where some spider qualities might manifest while she's still in her human form. This might be something as simple as her eyes turning black or even growling multiple eyes or limbs, and getting a bit more pink and fuzzy.
Role Reasoning:
Gwen is a hero and has many qualities that would land her in the Legend role, but after the events of Across the Spider-Verse, she's feeling especially uncertain that she's living up to what it means to be a hero, leaving her in more of a limbo of how she feels about herself as a person. She's already felt pretty uncertain after the death of Peter Parker in her universe prior to the first film, so this has put her on even more uncertain footing. After losing Peter, she'd distanced herself from people, until meeting Miles in his universe. But she learns that her own father and Miles' were both in danger of dying due to Canon Events (events that have happened or must still happen in most universes that form the web of life and destiny that intertwines the Spider-Verse), and yet chose not to tell Miles and avoided going back home for months in fear of it. Trying to stop Canon Events could lead to the collapse of universes and the entire Spider-Verse, but it still felt wrong to keep it from Miles and not even try to find another way. So she's incredibly guilty for staying silent. Just as she told Miguel as he forcibly sent her back to her universe, "we are supposed to be the good guys." She is trying to live up to the standard of being a hero, and at the end of the movie forms a rebel team to go find Miles and help him, so she's on her way. Having her in the Familiar role in Folkmore will lead to some interesting in turmoil in her, that I would like to explore because as it would confirm for her that there are some things she needs to work on within herself.
